Hanna Dóra Sturludóttir is one of Iceland's leading classical singers. Her career, both in opera and concert, has taken her around the world. She has performed in productions in Iceland and Germany, as well as in Poland, Austria, France, Canada, Egypt, and Qatar. She has performed in prestigious opera houses in Germany, such as the Komische Oper, the Staatsoper Berlin, Hamburg, and Bayerische Staatsoper München.
 

Hanna Dóra received the Icelandic Music Award as "Classical Singer of the Year" in 2014 for her interpretation of Eboli in Don Carlos with the Icelandic Opera.

She received nominations for the Icelandic Music Awards 2013, 2018, 2019, and 2022. She was nominated for the Gríma Award as singer of the year for her performance in the opera KOK, which premiered in the spring of 2021 and won the Icelandic Music Award for the musical event of the year 2021.
 

Hanna Dóra has placed particular emphasis on the performance of new music. For several years, she worked with the opera troupe Novoflot in Berlin, which specializes in unconventional opera productions.She has also worked with composer Snorri Sigfús Birgisson in Iceland, performing and recording new Icelandic music.
 

This winter, Hanna Dóra will sing the lead role in Innocence, Kaija Saariaho's opera, which will be performed in a new production in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Hanna Dóra is professor and director of singing at the Faculty of Music Iceland Academy of the Arts.
